A special cruise of the PS Waverley on Friday celebrated the 90th anniversary of its former fleet-mate the TS Queen Mary.

Passengers boarded the vessel at Glasgow's Pacific Quay before sailing to the Tail O' The Bank in Greenock and back.

Special guest Greg Hemphill - who plays Victor McDade in the BBC sitcom - was on board the paddle steamer.

The Canadian-born actor praised the efforts of former co-star Robbie Coltrane, who championed the fundraising mission to restore the vessel.

Charity Friends of TS Queen Mary is leading the £6million restoration project, with £4.8m banked to date.

The TS Queen Mary was built at William Denny shipyard in Dumbarton and launched in 1933.

Accommodating more than 2,000 passengers, she is said to be the largest steamship ever built to serve the Clyde.

The vessel is now being restored at Govan Graving Docks in Glasgow.

The plan is to return the vessel to steam and to offer cruises on the Clyde in the coming years.
