HELENSBURGH dancers are continuing to show their fancy footwork as they succeed at Highland championships.

Margaret Rose School of Dance had a number of members win and place highly at the Cowal Gathering last month.

And Eilidh Gammons, fresh from being crowned world champion at Cowal, was straight back to competing and was the overall winner in the 15 and under age category at the Braemar Highland Games at the weekend.

Cowal saw strong showings from a number of Margaret Rose pupils:

  • Emma Bancks was third runner-up in the Argyllshire championships;
  • Seven-year-old Olivia Moffat was fifth runner-up at the Argyllshire championship for the 11 and under category. She was also fifth runner-up at the Scottish championship under nine years, and fifth runner-up in the Scottish national championships under nine;
  • Evelyn Taylor was nine years beginners winner at Cowal;
  • Isla Flint was the runner-up in the adult Argyllshire championship;
  • Grace McGrath was the 14/15 age Argyllshire champion;
  • Rachel McVeigh was fifth runner-up in the Argyllshire championship;
  • Naomi Sim was the under 12 Argyllshire champion, second runner-up in the Scottish championship and second runner-up in the Scottish national championship.
