The first Blue Light Disco of the new school term in Helensburgh was held at the Drumfork Centre and was a massive hit, with more teenagers than usual attending. More than 100 teenagers headed to the event, arranged by Strathclyde Police, the Ministry of Defence Police, and the Navy and Regulatory Police. A hot potato was proving not only to be a worthwhile meal but also a vital one to help people in need. The Chaplain at HM Naval Base Clyde, Margaret Reid, organised a series of baked potato lunches for personnel at the Church of St John’s at Faslane in an attempt to raise money for well-deserving charities. Margaret said: “The charity is still to be decided but base workers can be sure that the money will go to a great cause.” (Image: MoD)
