PRIMARY seven pupils from a Helensburgh school have come out on top in a week-long competition.
The T2 class at Lomond School came first out of 404 classes from all over Scotland who entered the Times Tables Rock Stars competition.
Lomond was also the highest-scoring school out of the 96 Scottish schools who took part in the event.
The week-long event saw 6,000 learners try to answer as many multiplication and division questions correctly as they could.
Scores are based on the highest number of correct answers submitted in a limited time.
Mrs Ailsa Lawn, head of Lomond's junior school, said: "I am thrilled for our T1 and T2 classes on this national achievement.
"This fun competition has boosted maths confidence as well as the pupils’ accuracy and recall speed. The pupils have worked very hard to win the top prize and I look forward to them defending their title next year.
"Special mention to Kyle and Lucas who came 14th and 15th out of a field of 6,000."
