A BURGH drag queen will be coming back home as part of the UK tour of their successful show.

Lawrence Chaney is bringing 'Overweight and Over It!' to their hometown of Helensburgh for one night only next month - after a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe in August.

The show is about the "trials and tribulations of being plus size" and will discuss everything from "dating and exercise to having to buy two seats on a plane but only getting one meal".

When the show was announced earlier this year, Chaney said: "Growing up in the late '90s/early '00s, all TV and media portrayed people's bodies negatively.

"Now, in 2023 people think they possess no prejudice against plus-size people because they like one Lizzo song."

Chaney started performing in Glasgow in 2014, with their drag name being inspired by American silent actor Lon Chaney.

The drag queen rose to fame after winning the second series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK – the first Scottish winner in the franchise.

After winning the series, Chaney went on to present Tartan Around – a BBC Three series which saw them head on a Stateside adventure.

Since then, the 26-year-old has featured on a host of popular TV shows, including Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Celebrity Gogglebox, and Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel.

Chaney will be performing at the Victoria Halls on Friday, November 17 from 6pm-10pm.

The show is open to 14 and over and anyone under 18 must have an adult with them.

Tickets cost £20 per person or £35 for a meet and greet with the star.
