More than 100 Helensburgh partygoers rang in 2024 with a night of Highland dancing.
The Helensburgh and District Highland Association entertained locals at their Hogmanay Dance Party in Cardross’ Geilston Hall.
Dancers took part in the ceilidh with music provided by the Stuart McKeown Duo comprised of Stuart and drummer Ian Armstrong.
A spokesperson for the association said: “The band provided fantastic music and Stuart was in good form, with great banter when supporting dancers. He gave clear instructions for a number of dancers so that those new to ceilidh dancing could join in.
“It was pleasing to note the floor was full for most of the evening.
“A number of non-members have commented on how much they enjoyed the event and hope that the association will hold a Hogmanay Party Dance next year.
“Our thanks to committee members and association members who helped to set up the hall in the afternoon and clear up after the dance.
“Our thanks also to those who sold raffle tickets and helped serve tea, coffee, and juice at the interval.”
At the bells, there was a balloon drop and attendees were treated to whisky and Irn Bru.
The night finished at around 2am after closing remarks by the president, followed by a waltz and Auld Lang Syne.
A raffle was also held during the event and raised £296 for the group.
The next dance will be held on Friday, January 26 from 8pm to 11.30pm in the Commodore Hotel’s Osprey Suite, with music provided by the Susan MacFadyen Duo.
Tickets cost £10 for members and £12 for non-members.
They can be purchased on the night or reserved from association secretary Anne Thorn by calling 07490 274 871 or emailing am_thorn@hotmail.co.uk.
