The Helensburgh Music Society is hosting its penultimate concert as the season comes to a close.

Saxophone and piano duo Scholfield Clarke are performing on Sunday, February 11 with the support of the Tunnell Trust.

It will explore the journey of the saxophone over 100 years, culminating in the premiere of a new commission from English composer John de Simone.

Richard Scholfield (saxophone) and Iain Clarke (piano) have an energetic and dynamic presence on the concert platform, stemming from a close musical friendship they have developed for over a decade.

The duo are passionate about engaging audiences in their fresh and unique recital programmes, which expertly fuse traditional and contemporary elements.

They will present a 'red, white and blue' programme, exploring the rich diversity of the saxophone's original repertoire, with works from French, British and American composers.

This month, the music society hosted pianist Ethan Loch, winner of the piano final in last year's prestigious BBC Young Musician of the Year.

Show tickets are available online or at the door from 6.45pm. Booking is recommended.

The concert will take place at Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre.

Tickets are £15 (standard), £5 (students) and £1 (under 18s).

They are available to book at helensburghmusicsociety.org.uk including season tickets, which, at £50, is a 30% saving for five concerts in a season.
