A MAN has been charged in connection with an alleged livestock worrying incident in Helensburgh.

Police in town say the alleged offence took place at a field on January 27.

The man, aged 36, is now the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.

Under legislation which has been in force in Scotland since November 2021, any person who owns or is responsible for an animal that attacks or worries livestock can be fined up to £40,000 or sent to prison for up to 12 months if convicted.
