A Helensburgh musician is urging locals to support her new album as she launches a crowdfunding campaign to produce her upcoming record.

Harpist and composer Pippa Reid-Foster, who grew up on the Rosneath Peninsula and in Helensburgh, is hoping locals will donate to her Crowdfunder.

Pippa has already produced one album - Driftwood Harp - and is in the final stages of her forthcoming album Undercurrents, which is due to be released in autumn 2024.

Pippa said: "I've self-funded the album so far and now I need your help.

"The final stages include mastering the album, getting CDs made and vinyl pressed, promoting and distributing the new music.

"I'm very excited to finally get to this stage.

"The crowdfunder means you can pledge your support, rewards are in the form of pre-ordering the album or by you just giving your support.

"Every little helps and I am so very grateful for the support so far."

More than £1,000 has been pledged so far towards the target of £5,000.

Pippa added: "The album is a soundscape of music that you wouldn’t necessarily associate with the harp especially the lever harp - in Scotland people play mainly traditional folk music on the harp.

"The music I play and write for the lever harp is contemporary with minimalist influences throughout.

"Expect to hear music written by me but also music by Philip Glass, Max Richter and music I’ve written inspired by these great composers.

"My passion is to share music with you which will feed the soul and send your emotions flying. I find solace in music, a sanctuary, a space.

“This is what I want other people to experience - sharing music that resonates deeply and creates a meaningful experience for you."

A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Pippa will be performing ‘a concert of two halves’ in Cove Burgh Hall on Saturday, May 4 at 7.30pm.

In the first half she will be showcasing works from her forthcoming album Undercurrents.

The second half will be ‘Juke Box Pippa’ where she will play music from films which the audience can vote for.

Tickets are £15, with concessions £12 – they will be available on the door but can also be bought online via Eventbrite.
