A Helensburgh scout group has issued a thank you to a local club who generously donated hundreds of pounds to help fund new equipment.
The 4th Helensburgh Scout Group received £440 from Helensburgh Heart – formerly known as the Helensburgh and District Round Table.
The cash will be used to purchase buoyancy aids which will be used to allow the group to go kayaking and canoeing.
Scout leader Barbara MacDonald said: “Many thanks to Heart for the very welcome donation of £440 to the 4th Helensburgh Scout Group.
“We, as advised, will be using these funds to purchase buoyancy aids to ensure we have fit for purpose equipment for use when running water activities including kayaking and canoeing.
“Without support from agencies such as Heart, we could not provide the exciting programme and equipment to equip our young people with skills, opportunities and fun that they might not otherwise get.”
The 4th Helensburgh Scout Group has 80 young people aged between six and 17 across the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers.
Their aim is to ensure that finance is not a barrier to any young person joining the group and fundraising is on on-going practice to support their goals.
Heart raises money for local groups with their next big fundraiser being the Beer and Gin Festival on May 17 and 18.
All profits from Helensburgh Heart events go to local groups, charities, and causes, such as the scouts.
Tickets are on sale via their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/HelensburgHeart.
