FAMILIES are being urged to turn out in force this weekend for a Mad Hatters’ Afternoon Tea fund-raiser to help carers in Helensburgh and Lomond.
Centre 81 in Garelochhead will be the venue for an afternoon of cupcake decorating, glitter tattoos, themed games, a bouncy castle, a raffle, and of course those afternoon teas, on Sunday, April 14.
There will also be a ‘mad hats’ competition, with the chance to bring along a hat you’ve made at home and show it off to others – though if you run out of time before the event to make your own, there will also be a small hat-making station at the venue.
The event is being held to support the work of Helensburgh and Lomond Carers, which provides free information, support and advice to the small army of unpaid carers looking after family members and friends across the local area.
Sunday’s event runs from 12 noon until 2.30pm at Centre 81 in Old School Road.
Admission is £3 for children and £2 for adults, while raffle ticket strips and glitter tattoos are £1 each.
