A 33-YEAR-OLD man was arrested by police after being found allegedly in possession of a knife in Helensburgh.
The man was arrested after the item was found in Old Luss Road at around 7pm on Saturday.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
Inspector Coleen Wylie at Helensburgh police office said: “"Carrying knives or any bladed implement in public without lawful authority won't be tolerated, and the consequences if used could be serious injuries or even prove fatal.
“In addition, the penalties on being convicted of this offence can be a lengthy custodial sentence, and a criminal record that affects life choices in the future.
“Carrying a weapon can be a life changing decision, do not risk it! If you're concerned that an individual is carrying a knife or any offensive weapon please call Police Scotland on 101, or 999 in an emergency.”
