A TEENAGER who has repeatedly breached court orders has finally been detained.

Jordan Naylor was locked up when he appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week as three cases caught up with him.

The 19-year-old had previously admitted shouting, swearing, uttering threats of violence and acting in an aggressive manner in Sinclair Street, Helensburgh, on April 1 last year.

Then at Singh’s Palace takeaway in the same street on April 22, he shouted, swore, refused to leave, engaged in a fight and struck a glass counter, causing damage.

On July 23 this year, at Preparation for Life, in Alexandria, he punched an office window, causing a perspex window to smash and kicked a door, causing a panel to smash. The incident just after midnight caused £273.38 in damage.

Defence solicitor Jonathan Paul told the court on October 4 that Naylor had had an argument with his girlfriend prior to the latter incident, and then damaged property that belonged to neither of them.

Mr Paul said Naylor, previously of Alexander Street and Munro Street in Alexandria, had lost a close friend and “may suffer from PTSD”.

He said: “There are issues that most young men don’t have to deal with.”

Naylor was previously placed under supervision for 18 months and told to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.

Sheriff William Gallacher said: “He has comprehensively failed to comply. That’s the problem.

“He has been given the opportunity and it may be we have come to the end of the circle.”

Turning to Naylor, the sheriff said he had an obligation to the public as well as to the teenager.

He revoked the original community payback order and sent Naylor to detention for six months, backdated to August 31.

He added that Naylor should “take the opportunities” given to him while in detention.
