A MAN who terrified health workers at a Helensburgh centre has been ordered to undergo drug treatment for two years.

Dale Montague, of Athole Street, previously admitted the April 25 incident at Helensburgh Medical Centre in East King Street.

The 30-year-old repeatedly demanded to see a doctor, refused to leave, banged a door, entered a consulting room, shouted, swore, uttered threats of violence, acted aggressively and placed staff and the public in a state of fear and alarm.

A report recommended Montague be put on a drug treatment and testing order (DTTO) but Sheriff Maxwell Hendry noted last week at Dumbarton Sheriff Court there were "alarm bells ringing" over whether he would comply.

He told Montague: "I will be expecting to see immediate compliance."

An existing community payback order was revoked and Montague will be on the DTTO for two years.

Sheriff Hendry added: "This is your last chance of being dealt with in the community."

The first review of his progress will be in a month.
