A Helensburgh family are appealing for help in their search for their missing cat.

Susan, John and Jodie Keenan of Kirkmichael Road hope the Helensburgh community will help reunite them with their much loved pet Vinny, a three-year-old neutered male brown spotted Bengal cat.

He was last seen outside their home around 9.30pm on Monday March 12 and was wearing a blue collar.

Susan said: "The main cause of concern that we have is that he has suffered from digestive issues since he was a kitten and requires a special veterinary diet.

"He’s always very hungry but if he eats the wrong things he can very quickly become ill which can include vomiting, abdominal pain and becoming withdrawn.

"He has a great personality and will be very friendly to anyone who approaches him. He has never strayed from home before and concern for his welfare is increasing each day."

They have covered all the usual methods of spreading the word of his disappearance: facebook, posters, leaflets, chapped doors, local vets, SSPCA, Bengal cat sites and Cats Protection League.

They have also been in contact with the council roads and amenities teams and Network Rail whose operatives are keeping an eye out for him.

Susan added: "We urge everyone in the upper Kirkmichael and surrounding area to please check their sheds, garages and out houses."

If anyone has any information about Vinny, or if you have seen him or heard a cat crying in this area but cannot locate it, please contact Susan on 07970 463442.
