A 46 year-old man died after being struck by a car on the A82, near Balloch at around 3.50am on Sunday, 16 November.

The driver of the vehicle, a 69 year-old man was uninjured.

Enquiries are continuing and a report on the circumstances surrounding the crash has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The A82 was closed from 3.50am hours until 10.30am between the Stoneymollan and Arden roundabouts — with traffic being diverted via Helensburgh.

Police Sergeant James Crawford of the Road Policing Unit at Dumbarton is appealing for witnesses.

He said: “I would ask anyone who was in the area of the A82 near Balloch around 3.30am on Sunday morning and witnessed the incident to come forward. Any person with information is asked to telephone Road Policing at Dumbarton on the non emergency number 101.”
