Heavy snow, sleet, and heavy rain is forecast and at 4pm today (Friday) Traffic Scotland issued a warning for 'extremely hazardous driving' conditions in the Strathclyde region.

It advised drivers to exercise 'extreme caution' on the roads.

Rail services between Glasgow and Helensburgh were subject to a minor disruption during the afternoon due to an earlier train fault between Rutherglen and Dalmarnock.

The ScotRail website stated services may be cancelled, delayed, or revised as a result, however this disruption is expected to end by 5pm.

The A814 Whistlefield to Arrochar road is closed at Glen Douglas and Glen Mallon due to landslides. The slides are being assessed for stability and severity.

The A814 is also closed at Finnart, and is likely to remain closed for the next few days following a substantial landslide at Finnart.

Motorists should use the A817 Haul Road and A82 diversion which is signposted.
