Services will start and terminate at Dumbarton, with onward travel to Helensburgh available by a replacement bus.
The bus will be in service between the stations on 22 February and 1 and 8 March, with stops at all intermediate railway stations.
Journey times are expected to increase, and the replacement bus service may not run at the same time as the advertised train times.
A spokesman for Network Rail said the works were to inspect the embankments of the railway line, checking for lose stones and rocks which could pose a problem, as well as clearing vegetation which may impose on the line.
