The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, previously pleaded guilty to assaulting her son on July 22 this year by scratching his face and kicking him on the body, to his injury. She also admitted shouting at the five-year-old, saying that she did not love him and she wished she never had him.

Sheriff Craig Turnbull deferred sentence for it to be obtained and the woman is due to return to court on September 10.
