The cost of living crisis has dominated the headlines nationally and locally in 2023 and in this festive period I will be doing everything I can to support families who need that little bit of extra help - I hope you can too.
This Christmas, perhaps we can all spare a thought for all those who are unpaid full-time carers for sick or less able family members?
Also, spare a thought or show your appreciation for our NHS staff and local care teams that will be working throughout the Christmas holidays to try and make life a little more comfortable for those who need it most.
We have hundreds of families who rely on the support of others during the year and we should be grateful for everything they do.
Speaking from very personal experience, I know just how hard our local nurses and carers work - especially over the festive season. Thank you all.
And finally, please support your local food banks if you can.
Hundreds of local families will struggle this Christmas to make ends meet.
All your donations will make a huge difference to those struggling to get by this winter.
I wish you all a very merry and peaceful Christmas.
