I SAW two letters replying to Sue Glover in a recent edition about the Cove wind farm plan, both written by directors of the Trust concerned. I note they don't make any reference to some rather pertinent issues: The national park has objected to the proposal - something which they surely had hoped desperately to avoid.
The offer of several thousand a year for communities such as Blairmore and Strone did not succeed in winning them over - again, a bit of a blow (sorry about the pun).
SNH has lodged an interim objection, saying the visualisations used by the trust 'may be misleading' (details on the council website).
The trust says this is just a misunderstanding by SNH - so why have new visualisations appeared (last week) for the planners' benefit? These montages were used in all the consultation meetings, so I have to wonder if the public should also see what appear to be new versions.
SEPA has also objected.
All in all, it seems not be going very well for the development trust, and Mr MacDonald would be better advised to address these very real concerns, rather than accusing all those who disagree with him of being liars.
Oh, and I note that those supporting the plan on the council's website include all the trust's directors, several family members - and even the pub owned by one of them!
