G84 NETBALL Club’s under-13s and under-15s put on some fine performances in recent matches.

The new-look under-13 Gone Wild team had their first outing in November at a Glasgow Tournament. The squad were up against strong opposition from Paisley, Avon, Cadzow and St Cadocs.

Gone Wild won their section with some outstanding team displays. They then faced Avon in their play-off for a spot in the final and won this to reach the final. The final would be their toughest challenge of the day but they continued to play well with Paisley winning by only three goals.

Their first Scottish Youth Cup game was against Maryhill. Gone Wild played a well but the height and physicality of the Maryhill side proved too much with score ending 33-5 to Maryhill.

Next up was their game against Glasgow South Saltires. This was more evenly matched with it being goal for goal until the last quarter when Gone Wild pushed through to win 10-6.

Squad: Erin Wood (capt), Catherine Laverty (vice-capt), Emily Wilson, Emily Blair, Lucy Wilson, Catie MacGillivray, Felicity Polley, Eve Sheils, Martha Kennedy and Nicola Cosgrove-Clark.

This season’s under-15 squad had big shoes to fill with last year’s squad making it all the way to National Finals Day last season.

From their first game it was clear that the new Team Pressure were up for the challenge. They faced Maryhill in the first of their Scottish Youth Cup games. Pressure asserted their dominance from the first whistle leaving Maryhill with little to answer to their speed and accuracy. Final score 33-5 to Pressure.

Their next match saw them face Paisley. Pressure again showed their commitment to win the ball and again dominated their opponents. Final score 36-13 to Pressure.

The last game of the first round was away to Broomhill 2. Team Pressure took until the second half to find their rhythm. They pushed hard and won 38-12.
