Helensburgh Golf Club held it’s 116th prizegiving evening on Friday, with the event being dedicated to the late Tom Inglis.
Tom was elected captain for the club’s centenary year and was made honorary president in 2012, but passed away in November.
And the club also chose to rename The Captain’s Day Cups to the Tom Inglis Trophies as part of his lasting legacy at the club.
The trophies were presented by his son Andy, with his daughter Victoria, son-in-law Iain also attending, with Tom’s wife Liz attending as a finalist as part of the prizegiving ceremony.
Liz said: “On behalf of myself and family I would like to thank Helensburgh Golf Club for the very warm tribute to Tom at Friday’s prize giving.
“Tom had great pride in Helensburgh Golf Club and I know he would have loved to have seen just how the club moved on in the future.
“We wish Helensburgh Golf Club much success and thank all the committee and members for making the evening such a memorable one.”
Andy also thanked the golf club in a short speech during the prizegiving, prior to the toast in his father’s memory.
