G84 Junior Netball Club’s Under-15 side (Pressure) are celebrating league and cup success after reaching the Scottish Youth Cup final and winning the league.

A 47-21 win over Avon in the Youth Cup semi-final booked their spot in the final, in which they'll take on Peebles Pulse in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile the Helensburgh club heaped more pain on Avon as a 46-15 win over their rivals resulted in G84 being crowned league champions.

The squad’s Scottish Youth Cup campaign started with back to back wins against Bellahouston, Broomhill 2 and Maryhill 2 taking them to the top of their group and into the second round.

Their second round match was an away tie against Peebles Arrows with the squad taking a huge 51-15 victory.

This set the tone for their quarter final that saw them face West Edinburgh which they powered through 46-20.

In the semi-final against Avon, Pressure set the pace from the first centre pass and controlled the game from start to finish.

The Glasgow League Final took place on Thursday, May 18 at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

The first quarter was a much closer affair, ending with Pressure just in a 9-5 lead.

Avon were much improved and Pressure’s Lia McGrath and Rachel McAuley had to be on top form throughout the first, second and third quarters, ensuring that our shooting trio of Holly Brown, Nicola Cosgrove Clark and Mia Rooney had easy passages to goal.

One change was made at half-time, switching Iona Greig into WD, who immediately made her presence known by taking two clean interceptions from Avon.

Going into the final quarter, Catie MacGillivray was brought onto WA and Eve Sheils to GK.

Catie played an outstanding game and won lots of tips and one intercept from the opposition.

Again Pressure showed their strength and belief in each other, taking another convincing win of 46-1,5 crowning them Under-15 Glasgow League Champions.

A club spokesperson said: “Thank you to all of the family and friends that made the journey to the Emirates to support our girls, we know how much they appreciate it.

“Thanks also to all of our volunteers and coaches who have helped in Pressure’s journey to the final, and also to Hayley Mulheron (Scottish Thistle) for lending her coaching expertise over the past few weeks.

"The girls have loved having her at the club.”

Pressure’s cup final takes place in Edinburgh at 12.30pm this Saturday - good luck girls!
