DUMBARTON visit Livingston tomorrow in search of a win which would go a long way towards securing the club's Championship status.

The Sons, who lie in eighth place in the Scottish Championship, will be hoping to build on their impressive showing in Saturday's 3-2 win over Hibs by securing another vital three points which would pull them seven points clear of this weekend's opponents with two games in hand.

A win would also see Stevie Aitken's men stay hot on the heels of St Mirren and, potentially, draw level on points with the Paisley club depending on their result against Raith Rovers.

Dumbarton have a good record against Livi this season having beat them twice at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium and drawing in West Lothian in December, Steven Saunders scoring late on in that game to clinch a 1-1 draw.

Boss Aitken will take his squad to the Tony Macaroni Arena expecting a tough match given the close-fought nature of his side's 1-0 and 2-1 home victories against the Lions earlier this season.

Aitken today gave an update on his squad for the tie.

He said: "The only players that will be missing is Grant Gallagher who is still out with his knee injury and Kler Heh picked up a hamstring injury on Monday playing for the under-20s so he'll probably miss out as well.

"Apart from that we have a full squad, Jon Routledge will return from suspension."

New signing Sebastian Osei-Obongo still awaits his international clearance so might not feature. Aitken is keen for his side to build on their shock win over Hibs and praised the way the squad bounced back after being turned over 5-0 at Dundee in the Scottish Cup last Tuesday.

He added: "I thought the boys were outstanding. They responded in the right manner after receiving a bit of criticism after the Dundee game, which I thought was unfair.

"They responded the way they have done all season, when the chips are down they knuckle down and they did that and deserved the win."
