THE Helensburgh Savoy Musical Theatre Group is £450 better off this week thanks to the generosity of locals who visited their ‘Craft and Coffee’ fund-raising event in the town on Saturday morning.
The organisers were delighted to welcome lots of visitors to the event to enjoy a refreshing cuppa and delicious sweet and savoury treats, as well as browsing stalls selling a range of hand-made craft items.
All the proceeds from Saturday’s event will be used to help meet the cost of the group’s November show, a stage production of Legally Blonde.

Pauline Forrest, the group’s secretary, said: “We would like to thank all those who came along to support us on such a busy Saturday.”
Meanwhile, the Savoy’s members are busy preparing for their spring concert, ‘Still Mad About Musicals’, taking place at the Victoria Halls on May 3.

Tickets are available now from 1st Class, West Princes Street, priced £10 (£8 for under 18s).
Pauline added: “Last year it was a sell out and we turned people away, so we would advise people to get their tickets early to be guaranteed a seat.”
