POLICE in Helensburgh are appealing for information to help recover a stolen mountain bike worth £3,000.

The bicycle was left at the main entrance to the Co-op supermarket on Sinclair Street just after 3pm on May 22.

When the bike’s owner, Catriona Holling, left the shop around 15 minutes later the bike was missing.

Police officers reviewed CCTV cameras and identified a witness who they believe may have seen a male on the bike around the time of the theft.

He is described as slim, six-foot tall, wearing dark coloured clothing, and may have a scar on his right cheek.

The dark purple and grey mountain bike has lime green streaks on the centre bar and full suspension, and is worth £3,000.
