TWO men were seriously injured and another was arrested following an incident in Helensburgh last weekend.

Police officers attended a report of a disturbance in the Drumfork Court area of the town at around 1am on Sunday, July 26.

A 16-year-old from Blackpool and a 49-year-old man from Helensburgh reportedly sustained serious head injuries during the incident and both received hospital treatment.

Police say enquiries into the matter are ongoing, however officers confirmed that in the aftermath of the incident a 47-year-old man from Helensburgh was arrested for an alleged public order offence.

He is said to have threatened and hindered the police officers who attended the earlier disturbance.

He was later released and issued with a recorded police warning.
