A PERSON was rescued from Loch Lomond on Tuesday after their small sailing vessel ran into difficulty in a heavy swell.
The Loch Lomond Rescue Boat’s crew was paged by police at 11.50am on August 25 following reports of a distress flare being seen in the vicinity of The Carrick golf course.
After launching the crew quickly located the vessel and discovered that as well as it having lost its keel and sails, one person needed recovered from the water.

Working with a helicopter and shore-based crew from HM Coastguard, the person was recovered and brought to shore.
The rescue boat’s crew returned to Luss and stood down at 1.15pm.
The rescue boat team extended its thanks to all emergency services involved.
