A HELENSBURGH man caught with a jab saw in a street in Craigendoran has been ordered to carry out extra hours of unpaid work as punishment.
George Mundie, of Bain Crescent, was found in possession of the item, without a reasonable excuse, in Dennistoun Crescent on February 28, 2020. The 30-year-old also had cannabis in his possession at the time.
He later pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon and of controlled drugs and had his sentence deferred for good behaviour.

At a hearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on February 19, Sheriff Maxwell Hendry was told Mundie had completed some hours of an existing community payback order imposed for an unrelated offence.
The sheriff told Mundie he had “cleared the first hurdle” and ordered that he do another 90 hours of unpaid work on top of the existing hours for the weapon charge.
Mundie was admonished on the drugs possession offence.
