Luss boxer Hannah Rankin is preparing to head back into the ring after announcing a bout against a fellow two-time world champion.

The 32-year-old will face Slovenia’s Ema Kozin for the WBC silver super-welterweight title in a fight which will also serve as a WBC and WBA final eliminator.

Rankin experienced a whirlwind 12 months last year after defending her WBA and IBO world titles against Alejandra Alaya in Glasgow in April, before losing them to Terri Harper in a shock defeat at Nottingham Arena in September.

She returned to the ring in Wolverhampton earlier this month, beating the USA’s Logan Holler, and telling the BBC afterwards that she was in the “best physical shape” of her life.

Kozin has won world titles in two weight classes, middleweight and super-middleweight.

According to BoxRec, the 26-year-old has racked up 22 career wins, having lost one bout and drawn another.

Kozin’s first professional defeat came at the hands of two-time Olympic gold medallist Claressa Shields in Cardiff last month.

A date and venue is yet to be confirmed for the Rankin v Kozin bout, but the fight is to be shown live exclusively on Fightzone UK.
