Local businesses in Helensburgh are gearing up for a special festive shopping weekend next month.

Many shops in the town centre will be open on Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3 from 11am until 5pm and are set to offer customers exclusive deals.

In addition, there will be plenty of festive events to enjoy in the town over the weekend with the Artisans Craft Market, Mrs Claus at The Hill House, Santa’s Submarine Experience at the Submarine Centre, and perhaps Andre Riéu’s White Christmas screening at The Tower cinema.

Not to mention the Porch Gallery Festive Show is on in Kilcreggan from 12 noon to 5.30pm and the Helensburgh Orchestral Society has a concert on Saturday at the Victoria Halls.

Fiona Baker, of Destination Helensburgh, said: "Helensburgh is fortunate to have many fantastic independent shops, you really can find everything you need and it is a great place to do your Christmas shopping.

"We have superb Christmas lights thanks to Helensburgh Festive Lighting Trust and a wonderful Winter Festival organised by volunteers.

"The Festive Shopping Weekend bridges the gap between these two big events and contributes to the concept of ‘Helensburgh The Christmas Town."

Destination Helensburgh are currently preparing a map of the town centre highlighting tourism, shopping and eating options for visitors.

This will be free and produced in paper and digital formats.

Fiona added: "‘We hope that the fabulous festive weekend shopping map will help attract day trippers to Helensburgh to enjoy all the wonderful things we have on offer and help support our many local retailers and eateries."

To have a free featured listing on the map, please send your best quality logo by email to info@destinationhelensburgh.org with a maximum five-word description of the business as soon as possible.
